EDITH MAUD PARK

Public BBQ

Unfortunately, this particular barbecue spot has closed its gates for good, which is a genuine shame for anyone who might have been planning a weekend escape to Coominya. What was once a straightforward BBQ destination - complete with the essential picnic tables and conveniently located toilets - has become another casualty in the ongoing saga of regional recreational facilities. The setup appeared practical enough: barbecue facilities positioned sensibly near seating, with amenities close at hand for families. It's the sort of place that would have served its purpose admirably for a simple outdoor lunch, nothing fancy but perfectly adequate. Sadly, prospective visitors will need to look elsewhere for their barbecue adventures in this corner of Queensland, as the gates remain firmly shut.
